Portrait photography isn't something I do a lot of, but once I'm out shooting, I do always find myself enjoying interacting with the families.
In this case, a friend asked me for some shots of her kids, so she could update her pictures on the walls of their home. I heard that her girls were really looking forward to it, and I remembered three years previously when I had done their photos and had gotten some really genuine and joyful smiles. It had been a pleasure then, and I hoped it would be again. And it was!
She also has a son, and she had not mentioned that HE was excited, so when they arrived at our shoot, I asked him if he was looking forward to the evening and he said no... and then ended up asking for more photos than anyone, and being quite the handsome and engaging young model!
The girls were a real pleasure too: the oldest's quieter personality, gorgeous skin and intelligent eyes; the middle sister's natural and inviting smile and beautiful red hair; and the youngest sister's sweet innocence touched with a bit of a Laura Ingalls quality.
I hope you enjoy viewing the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!
