Splash Photography

I had some fun the other day playing with splash photography. The kids are back in school and I'm not yet too busy with volunteering in their schools, so it gives me a bit of extra time to go shooting with friends and play with different types of photography at home today.

On this day, I opted for a simple splash set-up at home; one off-camera speedlight, a printed backdrop, a wine glass, and some water. I didn't always get what I hoped for, but the process was quite a bit of fun! This one was my personal favourite:

I love love love the way that the one drop is just sitting perfectly on a "hill" of water that was created when the water was disturbed by some previous drops.
