Charity Golf Tournament

This summer, I had the pleasure of volunteering at a charity golf tournament. It was a new experience for me: I am not an event photographer, and I wasn't sure how this would all play out, between stretching my skills and being behind the lens with a bunch of people I didn't know, as a very shy introvert! But it ended up being a good, albeit exhausting, day, and I felt pleased with the shots that I was able to get.
The event was the Saccomaniacs Agriculture for Autism golf tournament, and it brought together people in the agricultural industry to raise funds for autism. At the tournament, they announced that they had raised enough funds over the past few years to open a new autism facility in my home town!
I was tasked with covering the event from all angles: the golfing, the socializing, the volunteers, the food trucks and sponsors at the various holes on the course, and pretty much anything else I could think of. Here are some of my favourite shots.

Golfers at the registration desk. Apparently they had a victory of sorts right at registration!

Golf carts and golfers getting set to hit the course.

Good moments on the beautiful course at Golden Eagle Golf Club.

Hole sponsors, starting with Freybe's...

… and the BC Lions ...

... and Johnston Meats, among others.

Volunteers and sponsors chatting in the hot sun.

Some post-golfing socializing and smiles!

All set up for dinner...

... but first, the charity auction.

All in all, it was a rewarding day, and I hope I can be involved in more great events like this in the future!
I have signed up to volunteer for the 2020 event, so stay tuned for more great golf photos coming in August of 2020.
