I have a lovely friend who is a member of the Chilliwack Lace Club. The club recently decided that they would like to submit images of their lacework for consideration for use on a Canadian postage stamp, so she brought over some samples of club members' work for me to photograph. It was an unusual assignment, but a delight to photograph some of these truly beautiful pieces of work. They are so intricate and detailed, it is difficult to capture them well to indicate how very fine they are! I hope you will enjoy taking a look at some of the beautiful work produced by the Chilliwack Lace Club.

This beautiful lady was incredibly detailed, and was approximately 6" tall by 4" wide. Can you imagine the hours of careful work that went into a piece like this?!

This is one of a pair of amazing little baby shoes that were lovingly made by a talented club member for her nephew's christening.

In addition to the lace, I took some photos of the fancy bobbins they use in their work.

And this is a piece of lace in progress, with all of the bobbins and pins that are used to produce it. It helps to give you an idea of how intricate this work really is! This piece of lace was no more than 1.5" wide.
